Since more than one year the international nonprofit organization WITNESS in partnership with the citizen news innovator Storyful operate the YouTube Human Rights Channel – a channel that documents human rights violations and struggles for justice.

The material on this channel is filmed by ‘normal citizens across the world, who find themselves in anything but normal situations – and who decide to take action and film what’s going on around them.

The aim of the channel is to make sure ‘that those efforts are not in vain, and that citizen witnesses can play an important role in human rights advocacy.’
