Brazil´s Next Big Protests

18 Jun 2013 – Owing to police violence, government corruption, rising public transport costs and the expense of the 2014 World Cup, massive protests spread in Brazil. More than 200,000 demonstrators marched through the streets of Brazil’s biggest cities this Monday to express their anger.

The marches, organized mostly through snowballing social media campaigns, blocked streets and halted traffic in more than a half-dozen cities, including Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte and Brasilia.In Brasilia demonstrators also climbed onto the roof of Brazil’s Congress building and then stormed it.
